where have I been

oh. hey there.

It's been a crazy couple of months, and I lost my mojo when it came to sitting down and writing a blog post. So much so, that my gap year has finished and this can no longer be considered my gap year project.

So what's happened? Well, after March life got busy. I started working longer hours at work and becoming more involved in work too. In fact, I've only read one book since March so I've had no book reviews or book photos to post either. In July I was working double shifts, so I had even less time. I turned 22, and was thrown an intimate surprise party, which was lovely. I went on holiday, discovered two new cities and cultures, and finally got a break from my routine.

BUT

My social life has also developed a lot. Somehow in all this, I found the time to go out more (I had a partying phase which I'm kind of over), I joined the gym, and the circle of people I talk to has widened- both locally and globally. I had a falling out with a friend, and it opened my eyes to what I value and respect in people; but even more so, to how perhaps my perception of myself is not the same as what I really appear as to those around me. And that something I pass off as insignificant, or a joke, is actually perceived differently by the person it's said to.

So it's been quite a few months of self-reflection. Which is never a bad thing. In fact, it's helped with one of the main goals for this gap year, which was self- growth. I feel I've grown a lot this year, and my view on things has expanded. I've learnt so much about culture, and other cultures and politics, and I've realised that I am very fortunate to live where I do, and to be able to have what I have.

Oh, and I've also starts my Master's in English.
