It's been a MINUTE.

Well hey guys. Every time I say I'm going to get back into the swing of things, I somehow seem to disappear. Truth be told, I wasn't inspired to write or talk about anything. May was one of the hardest months of my life, and the months leading up to it were busy. I haven't been reading, I haven't been studying. I've just been breathing and getting through each day. Finally (hopefully? maybe?) the fog seems to have lifted and I have really tried to grab life by the metaphorical horns to try and get back on track. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed the sudden spike in activity.

There have been some big life lessons this month, such as: not everyone is what they seem. And when they reveal their true colours to you, it's not your fault. Another lesson, that I still haven't learnt, is say no. Say NO. If you need to unfollow/mute/ignore people, sometimes you need to do it. It might feel rude, but you need to limit the access people have to you (whether they have it consciously or not). Maybe you need a more physical boundary, like putting your foot down at work (me 🙋‍♀️), or being realistic with yourself about what you're able to do (still me).

I'm also learning that time, even though we don't have enough of it, is something that we can "create". If I want to read more, then I need to just put my mind to reading and do it. There's an incredible video on this by Max Joseph. It features Tim Urban, who is an amazing speaker and entrepreneur. Watch the video, it's incredibly well researched and put together and can really motivate you to get it together and read more.

May was not a month about appreciating being alive. It was not about focusing on me, on improving myself (although I did develop a gym addiction that I will not seek help for). There was a lot of giving anything I had left to everyone else, a lot of stagnation, a lot of crying.

June will be different.
